Men Fall 5-1 to UMass-Lowell

Boxscore

Easton, Mass. - The men allowed three goals to UMass-Lowell's Jamie Wangia in their 5-1 loss on Saturday.  The loss moves Stonehill to 5-10-2 overall, 2-9-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference.

Perfectly executed corner kicks would spell disaster for the Skyhawks.  Sophomore Jhony Valencia and Wangia would score on three of the River Hawks' 10 corner kicks.  Senior Edens Chery and sophomore Brendan Horne would also score for UMass-Lowell.

Stonehill's lone goal would come minutes before the half when Martin Earley (Winterport, Maine) floated a shot from midfield over the head of goalie Ryan Richards.  The score is Earley's third of the season.

Before the game seniors Danny Gomes (Brocktown, Mass.) and Joey Silva (Brockton, Mass.) were both congratulated in honor of Senior Day.  The teammates, who are both four year starters, played their last game at Stonehill on Saturday.

The men will conclude their season at Saint Anselm on Wednesday, October 24th.  The game is scheduled for 4:00pm
