October 23, 2005 - The Stonehill Men's Cross Country team edged out UMass-Lowell to capture their second straight Northeast-10 Conference Championship.  Sophomores Joe Ryan, Khalid Abdi and David Metzger earned first-team all-Conference honors, while head coach Karen Boen was named Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season.

Six Skyhawks Named To ECAC Northeast All-Academic Team 

Centreville, Mass. - Six players from the Stonehill men's ice hockey team were named to the ECAC Northeast All-Acacdemic Team as announced the ECAC earlier this week. 

Sophomore Mike Manna (Framingham, Mass.), Junior Brendan Connors (Lowell, Mass.) and seniors Frank Amato (West Springfield, Mass.), James Killeen (Derry, N.H.), Bill Ninteau (Litchfield, N.H.) and John Sommers (Manchester, Conn.) were all named to the ECAC All-Academic Team in a season which saw the Skyhawks reach the Northest-10 Championship game and finish witha 10-13 record after dropping their first seven games of the season. 

Manna started 13 games in goal for the Skyhawks this season.  The netminder finished with a 4-7 record and 3.31 goals against average, good for first in the Northeast-10.  He also recorded his first career shutout in a 5-0 win over Franklin Pierce in the first round of the NE-10 tournament. 

Connors, a defensemen, played in 13 games for the Skyhawks this season, including all three post season contests.  The junior also scored one goal on the season. 

Amato played in 23 games for the Skyhawks and finished sixth on the team in points with 19. The senior scored six goals and dished out 13 assists, and had a season high three points in a 6-3 win over Salve Regina. 

Killeen played in 23 of 24 games, the most by any defensemen.  He had three assists and scored his first career goal in a 7-1 win over Framingham St. The senior also added an assist in that game for a career high two points. 

Ninteau was an assistant captain for the Skyhawks and appeared in 22 games on defense.  He was second among defensemen on the team with five goals and nine assists for 14 points and had two assists in a 6-3 win over Franklin Pierce.

Sommors was one of four players to play in all 24 games for Stonehill.  He scored five goals on the season and dished out four assists for nine total points. He had a goal and an assist in a 7-1 win over Framingham St.
