September 10, 2005 - Stonehill Football defeated the Pace Setters 17-13 in inaugural game at W.B. Mason Stadium.  A sellout crowd of 2,400 watched sophomore quarterback Greg Borsari throw for 146 yards and two touchdowns in the Skyhawks' victory.

Cold Second Half Shooting Dooms Skyhawks
3/14/09
In the Skyhawks’ first NCAA appearance in three years, Stonehill jumped out to a 28-23 halftime lead, but was outscored by 15 in the final 20 minutes to fall to Assumption 61-59 in a Northeast Regional Quarterfinal on Saturday evening at the Pratt Recreation Center. The Skyhawks shot just 1-9 from downtown and 33 percent from the field in the second half, while giving up 36 points to the Greyhounds who didn’t find their touch until after intermission. A.J. Rudowitz (Monroe Township, N.J.) led the way with 15 points for Stonehill and seven rebounds. Matt Hall (Springfield, Mass.) joined him in double figures with 10, including the 1000th of his career, finishing with 1007. The Skyhawks ended their season at 21-8.
Brockton Enterprise: McLaughlin Has Men’s Basketball Program On Solid Ground
3/13/09
He was placed in charge of the Stonehill College men’s basketball program during a turbulent time in January 2004. David McLaughlin, who had been an assistant coach for 31/2 years, suddenly found himself named interim head coach just nine games into the 2003-04 season. At the age of 29, he was elevated to the position when Kevin O’Brien was relieved of his duties, and McLaughlin was learning on the fly in the remaining 17 games. Five years later, Brockton native McLaughlin has established himself as one of the best coaches in the history of the program, climbing over the 100-win mark earlier this winter and guiding the Skyhawks to three 20-win seasons. On Saturday night in Brookville, N.Y., McLaughlin will be on the bench when Stonehill plays in the NCAA Div. 2 tournament for a second time in his tenure.
Brockton Enterprise: Skyhawks’ Senior Trio Sets Sights On Basketball Replay
3/13/09
They were wide-eyed freshmen during the best of times for the Stonehill College men’s basketball program. Matt Hall, Nick Smith and Colin Scanlon were introduced to the college scene by being part of a team that went on a remarkable run in the winter of 2006. With four senior starters, the Skyhawks advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Div. 2 tournament before losing to eventual champion, Winona State, in Springfield. It was a memorable ride for Stonehill, and Hall, Smith and Scanlon — who are now seniors — soaked up every aspect of the atmosphere along the way. “It was amazing,’’ said Hall, who returned home to Springfield for the Elite Eight that year. “I remember when we got to Springfield, busloads of students from Stonehill came to the game and we were sort of kings on campus, really. It was awesome.’’
