Boxscore

Kingston, R.I. - A six point Rhode Island lead turned into a 38 point win as the Rams shot 27-of-35 from the field in the second half on their way to a 107-69 win over visiting Stonehill in a exhibition game for both teams on Thursday night at the Ryan Center.

The combination of Will Daniels and Jimmy Baron proved to be too much for Stonehill, with Daniels scoring a game-high 31 points on 11-for-14 shooting, while Baron posted 21, as the two combined to go 7-for-11 from behind the arc.

After Stonehill cut the lead to 52-49 on a Nick Smith (Colonia, N.J.) three ball, the Rams put together a 27-2 run over a seven minute stretch to put the game away. Rhode Island, which shot 66 percent from the field, connected on 12-of-19 three pointers and held a 36-19 edge on the boards.

Stonehill, meanwhile had four players in double figures, led by Nick Smith (Colonia, N.J.), who ended with 16 points. Matt Hall (Springfield, Mass.) added 14 points, while both Randall Stallworth (Toms River, N.J.) and freshman Vince Rosario (Perth Amboy, N.J.) each chipped in with 12.

The Skyhawks, who got eight points and five rebounds from A.J. Rudowitz (Monroe Township, N.J.), opened the game shooting 64 percent in the first half but hit on only 33 percent in the second, when the Rams made 77 percent of their attempts.

Stonehill's season opens on Friday, November 9 at the Disney Classic in Orlando, Fla. The Skyhawks will play three games in three days beginning with a 2:30 p.m. tip versus Barry University.
