May 3, 1983 - First baseman Kurt Krohto hit .571 (12 for 21) to lead Stonehill to six wins in seven games.  Krohto was named to the Northeast-8 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for his outstanding week, which included three doubles, two homers and 14 RBIs.


Skyhawks Drop Heartbreaker, 63-62
 

Junior Matt Hall had 11 points, eight rebounds and three steals in the loss to LeMoyne.

Syracuse, N.Y. - Stonehill dropped a gut-wrenching, 63-62 road decision to LeMoyne on Saturday afternoon at Ted Grant Court. With the loss, the Skyhawks fall to 13-9 overall and 9-6 in the Northeast-10, while the Dolphins improve to 11-11 overall, 9-8 in the Northeast-10.

LeMoyne came out strong in the first half and kept the lead for the first 26 minutes before three-pointer from Matt Hall (Springfield, Mass./Springfield Central) gave the Skyhawks its first lead of the game at 34-32 with 14:16 remaining.

After the Dolphins regained the lead, Stonehill grabbed a 50-49 edge on a pair of free throws and a three-pointer from Vince Rosario (Perth Amboy, N.J./Cardinal McCarrick) with 5:08 left.

LeMoyne seized control of the game late and clutch three-pointers by freshman Kevin Roth and Jonathan Joshua and two free-throws by guard Mark Covin sealed the victory for the Dolphins.

LeMoyne sophomore Laurence Ekperigin led the way for the Dolphins, recording his ninth double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Roth came off the bench adding 11 points and four rebounds. Jason Holmes contributed with 10 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals.

Stonehill was led by Randall Stallworth (Toms River, N.J./Monsignor Donovan) and A.J. Rudowitz (Monroe Township, N.J./Monroe), who both scored 13 points, and. Matt Hall added 11 points, eight rebounds and three steals.

The Skyhawks now play their next three games at home, a place they are 7-0 thus far this season. The first game, versus UMass-Lowell, tips off on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
