October 22, 2006 - The Stonehill Women's Cross Country team claimed their sixth Northeast-10 Conference Championship after placing all five of their racers in the top 10.  The Skyhawks dominated their competition - runner up UMass-Lowell was 15 points behind Stonehill's 32-point, first place finish.

Hooksett, N.H - The Southern New Hampshire Penmen scored five times in the second period to overcome a 2-1 deficit and roll to a 7-2 win over Stonehill on Wednesday evening. 

Southern New Hampshire struck first, as Thomas Ohlson scored just 3:36 into the game, after Skyhawk holding penalty put the Penmen on a power play. 

Stonehilll responded just 13 seconds later, as Brendan O'Brien (Braintree, Mass.) took a pass from Frank Amato (West Springfield, Mass.) and fired it past Shane Brooks to knot the score at one. 

In the second period, the Skyhawks grabbed their first and only lead of the game at the 6:12 mark. Freshman Pat Green (Weymouth, Mass.) scored his second goal of the season, this one on an assist from senior James Florentino (West Roxbury, Mass.) to put Stonehill up 2-1 

The Penmen weren't finished however, scoring two minutes later on a Bob Bryant goal to even the score.  Southern New Hampshire took the lead for good with two more goals at the 8:53 mark and 9:53 mark to up their lead to 4-1. 

Southern New Hampshire wasn't done in the second, tallying their second power play goal of the game with just over two minutes remaining, this one a Troy Maybury score. 

Maybury netted his second goal of the contest and 17th on the season, midway through the third for the 7-2 margin. 

Stonehill out shot the Penmen 30-29 in the game, and 21-19 in the final two periods, but hit multiple posts and were unable to convert on opportunities in front of the net. The goaltending tandem of Brooks and Todd Rowley make 28 saves between the pipes for Southern New Hampshire. 

Derek Chapdelaine (Granby, Mass.) made 16 saves in net but allowed six goals and was replaced by sophomore Mike Manna (Framingham, Mass.) with 2:09 left in the second period. Manna made six saves in the final stanza for the Skyhawks. 

Stonehill falls to 8-10 with the loss, snapping their three game winning streak.  The Skyhawks return to action on Saturday when they host Becker for senior day, gametime is set for 2:00 p.m.
