February 16, 2002 - Matt Ellis set a school record in the Weight Throw at the Northeast-10 Championships with an outstanding 49'5" distance.  Ellis also claimed the school's Shot Put record earlier that season at the Terrier Classic with a 43'6" mark.


Arpe Steps Down As Field Hockey Coach

Pam Arpe, the architect of the Stonehill Field Hockey program, has decided to step down as head coach the College’s Director of Athletics, Paula Sullivan announced on Friday. In eight seasons, Arpe brought the Skyhawks to regional and national prominence, going 112-54 (.675 winning percentage) and advancing to the NCAA Tournament on two separate occasions. She guided Stonehill to a Northeast-10 Tournament Championship in 2005, as the Skyhawks advanced to the NCAA final four and posted the best season in program history (19-3). During that magical season, Stonehill won a school-record 15 straight contests and saw its national ranking reach No. 4 in the country.

The Stonehill field hockey team is one of several programs that have been named a recipient of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association’s National Academic Team Award it was announced on Monday by the NFHCA. In addition nine Skyhawk student-athletes - Morgan Davis (Walpole, Mass.), Michaela Deasy (North Falmouth, Mass.), Brittany Dibble (East Schodack, N.Y.), Ashley Freeman (White River Jct., Vt.), Lauren Gifford (Goffstown, N.H.), Stephanie Kott (Rutland, Vt.), Laura Noce (Sudbury, Mass.), Dani Ryder (Gloucester, Mass.) and Kerri Sullivan (Goffstown, N.H.) - have been named to the 2007 ZAG/NFHCA Division II National Academic Squad.
Sullivan Named ECAC Division II All-Star

Kerri Sullivan (Goffstown, N.H.) put the lid on a banner junior campaign, earning a spot on the ECAC Division II All-Star Team it was announced on Tuesday. A first-team all-conference selection this season, she anchored a defense that posted seven shutouts and never yielded more than two goals in a Northeast-10 game. An accounting major, Sullivan was also named to the Northeast-10’s second team academic all-conference squad. She saw action in all 21 Skyhawk contests, registering three goals and three assists, as Stonehill went 15-6 on the season and ended the year with a No. 8 national ranking.
