Skyhawks 3.25 team grade point average tops among NCAA semifinalists
Stonehill, under the direction of third-year head coach Shelly Morris,ï»¿ boasts a 3.25 team GPA, tops among eventual national champions University of Massachusetts Lowell, runners up Shippensburg University and fellow semifinalist Bloomsburg University. It marks the first year the NCAA has issued a team GPA award at its championships.
Stonehill (16-7, 9-1 NE-10) wrapped up its season last week at the Fall Championships Festival with a semifinal round loss to UMass Lowell. The Skyhawks were ranked fifth in the final Kookaburra/NFHCA Division II poll and finished second in the NE-10 standings to the River Hawks.
