December 2, 1994 - Stonehill Men's Basketball defeated Wheaton and UMass-Dartmouth at the Holiday Inn Classic.  Senior Chris Butler finished with 22 points and 12 boards on his way to being named Tournament Most Valuable Player.  Butler gave Stonehill the win over UMass-Dartmouth sinking a basket with 2.1 seconds remaining.

EASTON, Mass. (September 10, 2009) - Stonehill College, ranked fourth in this week's Kookaburra/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II poll, posted a 2-1 victory over 3rd-ranked University of Massachusetts Lowell in non-conference field hockey action at W.B. Mason Stadium tonight.

Junior Courtney Foley (Wakefield, Mass./Wakefield Memorial) played a role in both Stonehill goals, recording a goal and assist on the night. Senior All-American Jackie Ladino (North Dartmouth, Mass./Dartmouth) also collected a goal with the match-winner in the second half.

Senior Jaci Moulton (Baldwinville, Mass./Narragansett) scored the lone goal for UMass Lowell.

Junior goalkeeper Courtney Osier (South Dennis, Mass./Dennis-Yarmouth) preserved the win in goal for Stonehill with four saves. Junior Amy Carbon (Bellingham, Mass./Bellingham) posted three saves in goal for UMass Lowell, which finished with a 10-6 edge in shots for the match.

Ladino provided the difference 14:14 into the second half when she took a pass from Foley after a penalty corner and slotted her team-leading seventh goal of the season inside the left post from four yards out. The goal is the 26th of her career - good for fifth in program history.

UMass Lowell had two good scoring chances as the clock was winding down to force overtime. Osier charged off the goal line and stopped a point-blank shot from junior Sammy Macy (Tewksbury, Mass./Tewksbury) with 7:10 to play. The River Hawks were awarded a penalty corner in the final minute, but were unable to get a shot off and Stonehill gained possession to run the clock out.

Stonehill opened the scoring 13:08 into the contest when Foley took a pass from the top of the arc from senior Stephanie Kott (Rutland, Mass./Notre Dame Academy) following a penalty corner and fired the ball past Carbon from the upper left hand side of the arc for her third goal of the season.

UMass Lowell knotted the score 10:19 before halftime as Moulton took a pass from sophomore Annie Hansbury (Plaistow, N.H./Timberland Regional) and scored her fifth goal of the year with a high shot from just inside the top of the circle.

Stonehill (4-2, 0-0 NE-10) is back in action on Saturday when it visits Saint Anselm College for a non-conference clash at 2 p.m. The Skyhawks return home next Wednesday to host Southern Connecticut State University at 7 p.m. UMass Lowell (5-1, 0-0 NE-10) hosts American International College for its Northeast-10 opener on Saturday at 1 p.m.
