May 15, 2005 - After defeating Adelphi, 16-10, Stonehill Women's Lacrosse advanced to the 2005 NCAA National Championship to face West Chester University of Pennsylvania.  Senior Colby Confer registered three goals while rookie Kristin Darrell added two scores and an assist in Stonehill's 13-10 win.  The victory marked the team's second National Championship in three years.


Sullivan Named ECAC Division II All-Star

 

Kerri Sullivan has piled up the awards this season after a standout junior season.

Centerville, Mass. - Kerri Sullivan (Goffstown, N.H.) put the lid on a banner junior campaign, earning a spot on the ECAC Division II All-Star Team it was announced on Tuesday.

A first-team all-conference selection this season, she anchored a defense that posted seven shutouts and never yielded more than two goals in a Northeast-10 game. The 2005 Northeast-10 Rookie of the Year, Sullivan was also named to the conference's all-academic second team.

She saw action in all 21 Skyhawk contests, registering three goals and three assists, as Stonehill went 15-6 and ended the year with a No. 8 national ranking, after reaching as high as No. 2 early in the season.

An accounting major, Sullivan was also named to the Northeast-10's second team academic all-conference squad.

The ECAC is the nation's largest athletic and the only multi-divisional conference, with a membership of 320 Division I, II, and III colleges and universities stretching from Maine to North Carolina. The ECAC honors more than 3,000 student-athletes during the academic year through its all-star and player of the week programs. Each week, the conference has recognized six field hockey athletes, including a player and goalkeeper, in Divisions I, II and III.
