Five Skyhawks Headed To DII All-Star Game

Glen Allen, Va. - Five Stonehill seniors will participate in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II All-Star Game it was announced earlier this week. The game which takes place during the Division I Final Four, is scheduled for Saturday, November 17 at the University of Maryland-College Park.
Aly Boulis (Lincoln, R.I.), Brittany Dibble (East Shondeck, N.Y.), Caitlin Gleason (Goffstown, N.H.), Ashley Freeman (White River Jct., Vt.) and Dani Ryder (Gloucester, Mass.) were among 38 players selected to participate in the event.
Boulis, a first-team All-Northeast-10 selection this past season, tied for the team scoring lead with 28 points. Her 13 goals were the most on the team, as she earned conference player of the week on two separate occasions.
Dibble was a second-team all-conference selection as a junior and started all 21 games in her senior season. She started 65 of the 80 games she appeared in during her career.
Gleason, a second-team pick as a senior, leaves Stonehill as the program's all-time leading scorer with 132 career points after a 28-point season in 2007.
Freeman started all 21 games this season and had two assists, while helping anchor a stingy Skyhawk defense. As a sophomore, she had 12 assists, the second most in a single season in school history.
Ryder ended her Skyhawk career with 29 shutouts and 63 wins, including a school-record 19 wins as a sophomore.
The five selectees represent the largest number the program has ever sent to the annual event and is also tied for the most student-athletes from one school this year. East Stroudsburg will also send five student-athletes.
The Skyhawks finished their season with a No. 8 national ranking after a 15-6 season.
