Three Skyhawks Named All-Americans
Glen Allen, Va. - Three members of the Stonehill field hockey team have been named to the 2007 Longstreth/NFHCA Division II All-America Team it was announced on Monday.
Junior Kerri Sullivan (Goffstown, N.H.) received first-team honors while seniors Aly Boulis (Lincoln, R.I.) and Caitlin Gleason (New Boston, N.H.) were named to the second-team.
Sullivan, a first-team all-conference selection this season, anchored a defense that posted seven shutouts and never yielded more than two goals in a Northeast-10 game. The 2005 Northeast-10 Rookie of the Year, Sullivan was also named to the conference's all-academic second team.
Gleason, meanwhile, adds another honor to an already storybook career. A first-team all-America selection a season ago, she ended her career with another monster season, collecting 28 points (10 goals, eight assists). The school's all-time leading scorer, she is the first repeat All-American in the program's history.
Boulis, who was also named first-team All-Northeast-10, started her season off with a bang, scoring three goals in the season-opening win. She tied for the team lead with a career-high 13 goals and was named Northeast-10 player of the week on two occasions this season.
Stonehill now has seven All-Americans in its program's history. Other honorees include Libby Hanna, Julie Michalos, Lindsay Breen and Kelly Latendresse.
The Skyhawks finished their season with a No. 8 national ranking after a 15-6 season.
