Tim McGraw backstage during the concert with Kenny Chesney.

I have officially made my one-month mark of me interning with the Eagles, and I have loved every second of it so far. This past week was very busy with numerous jobs. The most important job was the much-anticipated Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw concert. During the previous weeks before the concert, I heard nothing but crazy stories about the Chesney concerts in the past. As the hours winded down before the big day, I had no idea what to expect. The gates to the parking lot opened at 9:00 AM, and by 11 they were packed with tailgaters. The concert did not start until 4 p.m., but fans were tailgating hours in advance. Before the gates to the stadium opened, a co-worker and I had the duty of filling up numerous coolers with ice and drinks to place at various ticket offices around the stadium. After that we just prepared for the chaos that we believed was about to take place. As the gates opened, the office I was in really did not see many problems. I had the same duty as my previous event (Monster Jam), which was handling will call tickets and also handling any issues over the phone. I was anxious for something crazy to happen but was disappointed with only a couple of bizarre stories. As the day winded down, the supervisors said they were shocked at how few problems occurred, and at how calm the crowds were. At the end of the show we were fortunate enough to be allowed onto the floor to enjoy the last songs of the concert. I did not stay that long (not a country music fan), but for the short time I did stay the atmosphere mesmerized me and I was amazed when looking up to the stadium and seeing it completely packed.

As the week came to an end, I was able to be a part of two activities that I also got paid for. One was an autograph signing by the players, and another was a Punt, Pass and Kick event that the Eagles offer to their loyal season suite holders. Once or twice a year when the players are all together at the NovaCare Complex, various departments throughout the organization have the players sign different Eagles memorabilia. These include things such as helmets, mini-helmets, jerseys, footballs and photographs. The different departments use this signed memorabilia to give out to fans, if they ever make a mistake, or for different programs they might run such as the punt, pass and kick event.

As explained, the punt, pass, kick event is an annual program that the Eagles offer to their season suite holders. During this time, businesses that own suites send out a team of 10 people to participate in this event. The event included different challenges such as a field goal kick, a quarterback challenge, a wide receiver challenge, a running back challenge, and also a timed 40 yard dash. Even though the feel of the event was not competitive but rather recreational and fun, the teams who performed the best in each event would win a trophy. I was instructed to be a captain of a company called Bancorp, Inc. At first sight, my team did not look like great athletes at all and multiple times they even asked me how much money it would take for me to change their scores (they were joking of course!) but they participated in every event with their best efforts. After all of the events were completed there was a cookout for the teams, and this was where the prizes were given out, and signed memorabilia was raffled off for free. This event reassured me once again how great the Eagles organization is. They try their best to come up with different ways to give back to their loyal fans and customers in many ways. I am so fortunate and happy to be a part of this organization, even if it will be for a short time!
