Skyhawks, Gaels Renew Acquaintances In New
Rochelle
With the longest losing streak of the Rob Talley regime staring
them straight in the face, Stonehill returns to the field on
Saturday for a road showdown with Division I-AA Iona. The Skyhawks,
coming off of a 17-14 loss to archrival Bentley last Friday, got
most of its production through the air against the Falcons with
junior wide receiver David Pringle (West Haven, Conn.) snaring a
pair of scores on his way to 115 yards on four catches. The Gaels,
who lead the all-time series 3-0, are coming off an improbable win,
scoring 24 points in the fourth quarter to defeat Pace, 30-26.
Stonehill, the fourth-best rushing team in the NE-10, goes against
a Iona defense that is yielding 213 yards per game on the ground.
For those fans who can't make it to the game, you can follow the

Back On Track
Riding a three-game losing streak, Stonehill will look to
get back into the win column with a road contest at Iona.
Inside The Series
The Gaels lead the all-time series 3-0, including last year's 30-10
win in North Easton.
Point Total
Iona has outscored Stonehill 70-24 in the three games,
with the Skyhawks scoring just three touchdowns.
Parsons' Premier
Although he had seen action in one of the previous three
games, a then freshman Cruz Parsons (Signal Hill,
Calif.) made his first collegiate start in the 16-7 loss to Iona.
He led the Skyhawks to a touchdown on their first drive of the game
and had a 33-yard scramble later in the contest.
At This Time Last Year
In last year's matchup, the Skyhawks had won three
straight to open the season but Dane Samuels' 198 yards, handed
head coach Robert Talley his first career coaching loss.
Six Degrees Of Separation
The Gaels and Skyhawks share two common opponents in
Wagner and Pace. Stonehill opened the 2008 campaign with a 14-13
win over the Seahawks, while the Gaels dropped a 45-28 decision to
them the following week. Meanwhile, the two teams split their
meetings with Pace. Stonehill looked to have the game against the
Setters won, but a touchdown catch with one second left gave Pace
the win. The Gaels trailed the Setters by 20 points with 11 minutes
left before rallying for a 30-26 win last week.
Last Time Out
Stonehill, down 17-0 to begin the fourth quarter, the
Skyhawks rallied for two touchdowns but eventually fell to Bentley,
17-14.
Difference Maker
David Pringle (West Haven, Conn.) caught two
touchdown passes in a game for the first time in his career in the
loss to Bentley.
Not Quite A Career Day
David Pringle's four catch, 115 yard day in the loss at
Bentley was the second career 100-yard receiving day. Included in
the 115 yards, was a 70-yard touchdown grab, the longest catch of
his career.

Pringle leads the Skyhawks in catches (9), yards (154),
average (17.1) and touchdowns (2).

The 58 net yards the Skyhawks were held to in the loss to Bentley
was the second fewest yards they have ever rushed for under Rob
Talley. Bryant held the Stonehill to 46 yards on the ground in a
loss last season.
Start Another One
Cruz Parsons' streak of 59 passes without an interception
ended at when he was intercepted by Bentley's Chris Carroll on the
first play of the second quarter in last week's loss to the
Falcons.
He's Everywhere
Senior linebacker Greg Sanzari (Centerport, N.Y.)
had a career-high 15 tackles in the loss at Bentley. He leads the
Northeast-10 in tackles with 42 stops, an average of 10.2 per game.

off with a bang. He leads the Northeast-10 in tackles for loss
(8.0) and sacks (5.0). He is second to Greg Sanzari on the team in
tackles with 26.
We Get Picks
In 14 contests with Rob Talley as Stonehill's head coach, the
Skyhawks' defense has 21 interceptions.

and seven tackles in the loss at Bentley. In his last four contests
spanning the past two seasons, Kilborn has 34 tackles and five
interceptions. He also has four pass breakups and a blocked kick.

punting at 34.9 yards per boot.

After getting flagged for eight miscues in the 14-13 win over
Wagner, including one that nullified a touchdown, Stonehill has had
just 10 penalties in the last three games and now ranks as the
third-least penalized team in the Northeast-10.
4th And No Way
Stonehill ranks second in the Northeast-10 in opponents fourth down
conversions. In the loss to Bentley last week, they Skyhawks'
defense held the Falcons on all three of their fourth down
attempts.

Despite rushing for a season low 45 yards against Bentley,
Jeff Payne (West Haven, Conn.) is third in the
Northeast-10 in rushing yards per game (82.0).
