Stonehill Posts Strong Individual Performances at UMass Dartmouth Home Show

Alton and Ricci both place first in Walk trot Canter

REHOBOTH, Mass. (October 25, 2009) - The Stonehill College equestrian team participated in the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Home Show in its Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Zone 1 opener at Hobby Horse Farm this weekend.

Juniors Michelle Alton (Edgartown, Mass./Martha's Vineyard Regional) and Samantha Ricci (Forestdale, Mass./Sandwich) led five first-place finishers for Stonehill at the event as each took top honors in Walk trot Canter.

Other Stonehill Individual Highlights:

Senior Quinn Traendly (Hope Valley, R.I./Chariho) placed second for open flat and third for open fences.

 Freshman Cassandra Lorusso (Wrentham, Mass./Dana Hall School) placed second in open flat.

 Sophomore Jacquelyn Maggiore (Winchester, Mass./Dana Hall School) placed third for novice flat.

 Senior Kelli-Ann Monroe (Swanzey, N.H./Monadnock Regional) placed third for novice flat.

 Freshman Emily Dolan (Lacrosse, Wis./Aquinas) placed first for intermediate flat.

 Senior Rachel Foster (Townsend, Mass./North Middlesex Regional) placed first for novice flat.

 Senior Stephanie Perry (Wareham, Mass./Sacred Heart) placed second for intermediate flat and intermediate fences.

Sophomore Lexi Keller (South Burlington, Vt./ Stoneleigh-Burnham School) placed first for novice flat.

Freshman Martina Tramontozzi (Melrose, Mass./Melrose) placed second for novice fences.

Stonehill returns to action on Saturday when it participates in the Tufts University Home Show at August Farm in Holliston, Mass.
