Marsalise Earns High Point Rider Honors With Pair Of First Place Performances As Equestrian Finishes Fifth At Boston College Intercollegiate Horse Show

WESTFORD, Mass.-- The Stonehill equestrian team placed fifth of 12 teams competing on Sunday afternoon at the Boston College Intercollegiate Horse Show at Volo Farm, as the Skyhawks finished the fall portion of IHSA Regional competition tied for second place in the regional standings with Boston University, as both schools trail first place Wheaton.
Sophomore Jamie Marsalise (Laurel Hollow, N.Y.) was the high point rider of the day in the overall competition, as she placed first in the open fences and open flat and won a ride-off for the top honor for Stonehill. Junior Renee Rogers (Hopkinton, Mass.) and freshman Kelli-Ann Monroe (Swanzey, N.H.) captured first place in the novice flat for the Skyhawks, who also received first place performances from freshmen Stephanie Perry (West Wareham, Mass.) and Megan Martinez (New York, N.Y.) in the intermediate flat and novice fences, respectively.
Senior Mary Shawn DeGaetano (South Huntington, N.Y.) and freshman Quinn Traendly (Hope Valley, R.I.) added second place finishes in the open fences for Stonehill, which also received a second place performance from freshman Emily Gabree (Willington, Conn.) in the novice flat and from sophomore Naomi Crilley (Mountain Top, Pa.) in the walk trot.
The Skyhawks wrap-up fall semester action on Sunday, December 3rd by competing at the Holiday Tournament of Champions beginning at 9:00 a.m.
