WESTFORD, Mass.-- The Stonehill equestrian team finished third among 11 competitors at the UMass Lowell/Boston College Intercollegiate Horse Show Sunday afternoon at the Volo Farm.
Sophomore Laura Pola (Sandwich, Mass.) earned high point rider honors for the Skyhawks after winning her classes in the open fences and open flat, respectively, and she then won a three-person ride-off for the top individual spot.
Sophomore Renee Rogers (Hopkinton, Mass.), along with freshmen Sarah Quagliaroli (West Hartford, Conn.) and Jamie Marsalise (Laurel Hollow, N.Y.), each posted first place performances in the novice fences, open fences and open flat, respectively, for Stonehill, while freshman Bridget Connors (South Yarmouth, Mass.) was second in the walk trot canter for the Skyhawks.
Stonehill returns to action next Saturday morning at the UMass Dartmouth Intercollegiate Horse Show beginning at 9:00 a.m.
