April 12, 2006 - The Stonehill Women's Tennis team claimed their first outright Northeast-10 Conference Regular Season Championship in 14 years.  This honor, the College's fourth overall, came after the ladies swept a 9-0 dual-match decision from Southern New Hampshire in Manchester, N.H.

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.-- The Stonehill equestrian team placed second of 12 teams at the UMass Dartmouth Intercollegiate Horse Show on Saturday afternoon, as the Skyhawks finished as reserve champion to high point champion (first place) Endicott during the competition.

Junior Heather Marban (Ridgefield, Conn.) was the reserve high point rider (second place) in individual competition on the day for the Skyhawks, as she placed first in both the intermediate fences and intermediate flat. Senior Kalyn Healey (Plympton, Mass.) was first in the open fences for Stonehill, which also received a first place performance from junior Sara Zelazny (San Diego, Calif.) in the walk trot canter.

Senior Anna Huggins (Uxbridge, Mass.) and sophomore Renee Rogers (Hopkinton, Mass.) each posted second place efforts in the open fences and novice fences, respectively, for Stonehill.

Nine Skyhawks will compete on Sunday at the IHSA Regionals to be held at Springtide Farm in Boxford, Mass. beginning at 9:00 a.m. Zelazny and freshman Sarah Grzymala (Clifton Park, N.Y.) will compete in the walk trot, while junior Brooke Clifford (Rehoboth, Mass.) will compete in the intermediate flat and intermediate fences. Healey will compete in the open flat and open fences for Stonehill, while Marban (novice flat), senior Shannon Tibbits (West Kingston, R.I. intermediate flat), Huggins (intermediate fences), sophomore Laura Pola (Sandwich, Mass open flat) and freshman Jamie Marsalise (Laurel Hollow, N.Y. open fences) will also compete for the Skyhawks.
