Stonehill Named 2007-08 Institution of the Year
South Easton, Mass. - In conjunction with the Northeast-10 Conference and the Conference's Senior Women Administrator Council, Stonehill has been named the recipient of the 2007-08 David R. Brunk Institution of the Year Sportsmanship Award, it was recently announced by Conference commissioner, Julie Ruppert.
Throughout the 2007-08 academic year the Northeast-10 awarded one team from each of its 23 championship sports with the "Team Sportsmanship Award" at the end of each season's championship segment.
Stonehill earned the honor in men's soccer in the fall, men's ice hockey in the winter and women's track and field in the spring.
The "Team Sportsmanship Award" is presented to the team that best exemplifies the spirit of sportsmanship and generally conducts themselves with a high degree of integrity, character and class.
Webster Bank and the Northeast-10 will make a donation to a local Boys & Girls Club in Stonehill's name.
