Megan Methven is providing Stonehill College with an offensive spark off the bench in her freshman season with the women's basketball team.

The Corning East graduate is second on the Skyhawks in scoring at 13.9 points, even though she hasn't started a game this season. On Dec. 17 she scored 18 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range, in Stonehill's 81-64 victory over Merrimack College.

Methven, a 5-foot-10 guard, is 39-of-88 on 3-pointers this year, good for 44.3 percent. She's also 77.8 percent from the foul line.

Though she ranks only seventh on the team in minutes per game, Methven has led Stonehill in scoring in six of its first 12 games. The Skyhawks are 10-2 and ranked 18th in the NCAA Division II poll.
