June 1, 1982 - Stonehill's shortstop Bob Wooster played in the All-New England College All-Star Game, held at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket, R.I.  Wooster, a senior, finished the season with a .376 average, two homeruns and 23 RBIs before being drafted by the Cleveland Indians.


Paul Hayes

A native of Brockton, Mass. and graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School, Paul Hayes was a two sport star playing basketball and baseball at Stonehill. Hayes played for three basketball coaches, Fran O'Brien, George Blaney and Jim Dougher, yet he still managed to average double figures in scoring and rebounding.  During Paul's four years he shot 50% from the floor and 90% from the charity stripe. In the spring, Hayes won 80% of his games as an all-star baseball pitcher.  He owns an impressive career batting average of .400. During his senior season, Hayes captained both teams and was the recipient of the Stonehill College Scholar-Athlete Award. Hayes has two children, Peter and Melissa.
