May 12, 2007 - Senior Dana DeIngenis set a school record for the Skyhawks in the 1500 Meter Run with a time of 4:36.43.  She also earned all-New England accolades while competing in the New England Championships.

Academic Excellence Breakfast 

  On Friday, April 4, 2008, the Department of Athletics celebrated the academic accomplishments of some of its brightest with its annual Academic Excellence Breakfast. The event honors student-athletes from the 20 varsity programs who have the highest grade-point average on their respective teams through the Fall Semester of 2007. Celebration of Academic Excellence

The Stonehill Department of Athletics held their annual "Celebration of Academic Excellence" for the 2006-07 academic year during halftime of the men's basketball 71-57 win over Assumption on December 1st.  

Fred C. Petti Team Academic Award:
2006-07 Women's Cross Country Team

Each year the Department honors one male and one female student-athlete with the Fred C. Petti Individual Academic Award, an acknowledgement of the students who maintained the highest grade point average for the fall and spring semesters.

The award reads in part, "This award is named with great pride for Dr. Fred C. Petti, whose contributions to both academics and athletics at Stonehill College for more than three decades have greatly enhanced and enriched the spirit of the campus community."

This year, the women's recipient was junior Katie Brague (Mansfield, Mass.), a member of the cross country and track & field team. An English Language and Literature major, Brague is studying abroad this semester but as a sophomore she participated on the 4x800 relay team.

On the men's side, senior Andrew Warmington (Centerville, Mass.) received the award for the second straight year. Warmington, a Criminology and Public Administration major, was a starting offensive lineman for the much improved Skyhawk football program.  

The Fred C. Petti Team Academic Award for the athletic team with the highest GPA for Fall and Spring semester combined was presented to the Men's and Women's Cross-Countryteams.

Recipients for the men include - Khalid Abdi, Joshua Andrews, Timothy Catoggio, Ryan Gattoni, Richard Gerry, Keith Gill, Matthew Meagher, David Metzger, Michael Prisby, Christopher Rich, Matthew Rigby, Joseph Ryan, Andrew Schaalman and Kyle Sousa.
